Negotiating With Davis Is an Expensive Game
So Al Davis thinks he was “forced out” in Los Angeles and the “L.A. opportunity is ours. We paid for it.”
It is important to remember that Irwindale once thought it could strike an honest deal with Al, only to find its city coffers short by some $10 million.
If anybody has paid for the L.A. opportunity, it is Irwindale.

I disagree with the criticism of Al Davis and the possible return of an NFL franchise to Los Angeles.
Al Davis was treated unfairly by the Coliseum Commission in his efforts to bring much-needed and promised improvements to the Coliseum. Certain writers unfairly criticized him because he is a strong-willed individual.
If Mr. Davis can bring a winning football team to Los Angeles, we the fans should welcome him.
