Building Dreams
More than $160,000 was raised recently at the annual Castle of Dreams benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana. Four hundred guests attended the gala last week at the Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach. Proceeds will go toward club programs for the 26,000 at-risk youth who live within a square mile of the facility. Programs include computer literacy, homework assistance, drug prevention, teen-pregnancy prevention and nutrition.
During the fifth annual event, visionary Joe MacPherson of Santa Ana was given the Dream Maker award for his support of education for children. MacPherson is the founder of the Help Our Schools program, which provides funding to Orange County schools. For information on the Boys & Girls Club, call (714) 543-7212.
