San Diego State Men Dominate SCC, 103-49

San Diego State shot 62% from field and routed Southern California College, 103-49, in men’s basketball Wednesday night in San Diego.

The Aztecs (1-5) took a 45-28 halftime lead, hitting 16 of 29 from the field.

SCC (2-5), an NAIA program that has lost to three NCAA Division I teams this season, shot 29% (nine of 31) in the second half from the field, while the Aztecs hit 69%.

Kevin Bradley led SCC with 17 points and nine rebounds. Dennis Keane scored 10 points, including two three-pointers.

San Diego State was led by Matt Watts with 17 points on eight of 11 shooting and he added six assists. Vincent Okotie hit seven of eight shots, for 16 points and David Abramowitz hit five of six three pointers for 15 points.

The Aztecs outrebounded SCC, 44-24, and hit nine of 16 from the three-point line.

In nonconference wrestling:

Fresno State 30, CS Fullerton 9--The Titans were able to win only three of the 10 individual matches. Former Calvary Chapel standout Joey Coughran won his 141-pound match for Fullerton, beating Jonte Davis, 10-5. The other two winning Titans were Steve Duran (164), who defeated Brian DeCarli, 10-3, and heavyweight Babak Nejadmaghaddam, who beat Jess Workman, 8-3.
