Residents in the heavily traveled neighborhood near Handy Street and Collins Avenue will learn the city’s plans for their streets today.

More than a year after dozens of neighbors protested plans to put a traffic light at the intersection, public works officials have completed a study approved by the Handy Neighborhood Preservation Committee.

The new plan calls for changing the lines on the streets, forgoing the traffic light and other measures. Council members will vote on the issue at their 4:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 300 E. Chapman Ave. Information: (714) 744-5500.
