2 New Charges Added to Gotti Indictment
Federal prosecutors added extortion and mail fraud charges against John A. “Junior” Gotti in an indictment Tuesday that also puts former baseball star Dennis McLain back in the case.
The indictment said Gotti, 34, son of imprisoned-for-life Gambino mob boss John J. Gotti, threatened violence to get a former manager of a topless club to drop a lawsuit in 1995, and lied about his income when he applied for a refinancing loan in 1996 and 1997.
McLain, the last pitcher to win 30 games in one season, is accused in the new filing of scheming with Gotti to sell worthless telephone calling cards.
