ANAHEIM
The city has received a grant from the state Office of Criminal Justice Planning to continue its drug and alcohol education program in schools. Under a partnership between the Police Department and the Anaheim Union High School District, the grant will be used to employ one school-community policing officer.
The officer will educate teachers, parents and students about the dangers of alcohol, drug and tobacco use; identify and arrest students under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances; track students who are at risk; and act as a role model.
