Compton to Put School Bonds on Ballot Again

Share

The Compton Unified School District’s advisory board of trustees has voted to try for a third time to pass a $107-million bond measure to repair many of its crumbling campuses.

The board voted 4 to 3 at a meeting earlier this week to place the measure on the April 20 local ballot. The move comes a month after an identical measure fell short by 111 votes.

The measure will require a two-thirds vote to pass. Both previous attempts split the board and drew fire from city officials opposed to a school bond.
