Litter

Share

Recently, on a glorious Sunday afternoon in Seal Beach, my 13-year-old daughter and I decided to take a walk along the beach. As we were walking, we were appalled by the vast amounts of litter that seemed to be everywhere! My daughter noticed that the length of beach between the Seal Beach Pier and the rocky jetties had few if any trash cans and although this is certainly not an excuse to litter, perhaps the city should provide more rubbish cans.

As a Girl Scout Cadette leader, I plan on bringing my Cadettes to this part of the beach for a beach cleanup day as soon as possible. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone observed one of the Girl Scout mottoes: “Always leave a place cleaner than when you found it.”
