Wrapping Tips

Here are some simple ideas for wrapping your holiday food gifts.

Reindeer box and tree bag. Make handles for a box or bag out of heavy-gauge steel wire. Paint two precut wood shapes (sold in craft shops) to hold the handles. Box and bag are from the Container Store (Costa Mesa) and the wood ornaments are from Tall Mouse craft stores (Laguna Niguel, Yorba Linda and Cerritos).

Ornaments. Paint wood ornaments with acrylic craft paint and fill with candy. Get ideas for patterns from fabrics or wrapping papers. Wood ornaments are available from Tall Mouse craft stores (locations above).

Star box. Sponge-paint a papier-ma^che box. Attach a ribbon bow with an upholstery tack. Star-shaped box and acrylic craft paint are available at Moskatels throughout Southern California and at most independent craft stores. Ribbon and tack are from fabric store.

Santa and star box. Dress up a plain white box with a holiday stamp. It’s a quick and inexpensive way to hand out your candies.
