Soroptimist International of Buena Park has extended its deadline to apply for the Youth Citizenship and Women’s Opportunity awards. The applications, originally due Friday, can be turned in by 5 p.m. Monday at 8074 Carnation Drive. The awards typically range from $200 to $300. The group hands out the citizenship award to one youth who shows a commitment to volunteerism. The women’s award is for a woman who lives or works in the city, is head of a household and is working toward furthering her education or obtaining a better job.
