Sondra Evans, the city’s cultural arts coordinator, has retired from her city job. During the nine years she worked for the city, Evans tackled a wide variety of duties, including founding and running Westminster’s local cable television station, organizing concerts in the park and serving as president of the Foundation for the Arts. She also served as public information officer and video services director. Wednesday was her last day as an employee, but Evans, 63, said she is soon moving from Garden Grove to Westminster to remain active in city causes, such as the cultural arts center and a Vietnam War memorial. “I think I can become more effective as a citizen and volunteer,” Evans said. “I really feel that very strongly.”
