Helen Estock Elementary School opened its new $42,500 computer technology learning center Thursday. The school’s Parent Teacher Organization helped purchase the portable classroom, which now has six computers but will eventually house as many as 34 computer workstations. The room also will have a graphics art center, including digital cameras, a scanner and high-tech color photo printers.

Principal Darlene Messinger said the center’s goal is to give computer access to all students, especially those without the tools at home.
