Public Education

The Times has published many items on the problems of our public education and editorials on the need for improvement, for which I commend you. Ever since I began voting (1940) I have always voted for school bond measures and political candidates with the same viewpoint, primarily because I am selfish. It increases the chances that some person, male or female; white, black, yellow or brown; domestic- or foreign-born; religious or atheist; heterosexual or homosexual, will find a cure for a sickness that I might get.
