Student, Designer Win Inspiration Awards

* Lolita Ball, costume designer for Cal Lutheran University’s drama department, and CLU student Korey Finstad received Inspiration Awards, given annually to one student and at least one CLU employee. Recipients, who receive a cash award provided by two anonymous CLU alumni, are selected “because they consistently inspire others to grow intellectually as well as spiritually.” Ball of Thousand Oaks was lauded for her artistic contributions and dedication to helping students learn the craft of costume design. Finstad, a senior religion major from Glendale, Ariz., was selected for his leadership as chairman of CLU’s Habitat for Humanity chapter and involvement with campus ministry programs.

Farmers Insurance Gives $600 to Easter Seals * Easter Seals Tri-Counties received a $600 donation from Farmers Insurance. The money will be used to purchase new infant and toddler car seats for the Equipment Loan Program. The program provides individuals with impaired mobility the opportunity to borrow, at no cost, items such as walkers, canes, wheelchairs, shower seats and other devices.
