George Edward Murray; Construction Inspector
Ventura resident George Edward Murray, a construction inspector with the city of Camarillo, died Saturday after a short illness. He was 63.
Murray was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Mt. Clemens, Mich.
He moved to Ventura County 27 years ago from Bakersfield.
He was a construction inspector with the county before joining the city of Camarillo more than five years ago, said Dan Greeley, director of engineering services.
“He’s going to be sorely missed,” Greeley said. “George was a very determined individual. He was a very focused person.”
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Leigh Murray of Fresno and David and Lisa Murray, Richard and Sandra Murray and Steven Murray, all of Ventura, and eight grandchildren.
Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral home, Ventura.
