Wisconsin’s Dayne to Stay Another Year

Ron Dayne, Wisconsin’s all-time leading rusher, said he will return for his senior year next season, mainly because he wasn’t assured of being a first-round NFL draft pick. . . . Connecticut named Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Randy Edsall, 40, as coach, replacing Skip Holtz, who left to become offensive coordinator at South Carolina. . . . Arizona Coach Dick Tomey’s five-year contract extension was approved by the state’s board of regents.
