UC Irvine’s Bailey Named All-American

UC Irvine’s Ryan Bailey was named to the first-team Division I All-America by the American Water Polo Coaches Assn. Monday. Stanford’s Brian Heifferon, formerly of Servite, also earned first-team honors.
USC’s Marco Pintaric was named player of the year and Trojan coaches Jovan Vavic and John Williams were named co-coaches of the year.
Irvine’s Dan Klatt and UCLA’s Sam Grayeli, formerly of Costa Mesa High and Golden West College, earned third-team honors.
Honorable mention All-American selections included Irvine goalie Genai Kerr, USC’s Peter Janov (Golden West) and Allen Basso (El Toro High), Stanford’s David Hay (Foothill High) and UC Santa Barbara’s Joey Pacelli (Villa Park High).
