Geronimo Pratt
One of the things I could not understand about the case of Geronimo Pratt (“Prosecutors Defend Case Against Ex-Black Panther,” Dec. 16) is the defense’s failure to provide a witness who was at the Black Panther Party meetings in Oakland at which Pratt claims he was.
The chief witness to this point was FBI agent Wesley Swearingen, who knew that Pratt “was in Oakland because Pratt was under surveillance.” This was secondhand evidence, unless it was supported by documentation from those who were doing the surveillance.
