Officials expect to begin accepting construction bids next month to build the new city yard, said administrative services manager Don Heinbuch. Construction of the yard, at 17300 Mount Herrmann St., should begin in January and be completed by July.

“We’re going to remodel the old Yellow Cab building and add a storage facility to house the field services operation,” Heinbuch said. The old city yard--the base for 70 employees and the city’s Public Works cars, trucks and supplies--is at Ward Street and Talbert Avenue.
