Fur

* I was sad to see the Dec. 16 article that told of how millions of domesticated dogs and cats in China are “hanged, bludgeoned, clubbed or bled to death” for fur coats and accessories, many of which made their way to the U.S.

It is just as disheartening to know that millions of animals are drowned, electrocuted, gassed, poisoned or caught in steel-jaw leg-hold traps in this country every year for fur. A fox, mink, coyote, raccoon, chinchilla, beaver, rabbit, or bobcat can feel just as much pain as a dog or cat. So why do Americans say it’s OK to wear one animal and not another? All animals should have the right not to be tortured and murdered for “fashion.”
