SOUTHLAND ROUNDUP
Northwestern 67, Long Beach State 47--Evan Eschmeyer scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Wildcats over the 49ers at Evanston, Ill.
It was Eschmeyer’s 50th consecutive game scoring in double digits.

“Offensively, we played extremely poorly,” Long Beach State Coach Wayne Morgan said. “We missed a lot of shots that we’re capable of making. We missed eight layups.”
Ramel Lloyd had 14 points for the 49ers. Long Beach’s Richie Smalls missed the game because he missed a flight from his New York home.
