Deputies Searching for Shooting Suspects
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies are searching for two men suspected in the shooting of a 30-year-old Fillmore man in an alley in north Fillmore.
Santiago Solorio, 31, and Gabriel Meza, 31, both of Fillmore, are wanted by deputies in the shooting at 5:45 a.m. Dec. 6, authorities said. The victim, after being shot in the head, staggered to the 800 block of Edison Way, where he was found.
The victim, whose name has not been released out of concern for his safety, was treated at Ventura County Medical Center and released.
Authorities said initial investigation of the shooting proved difficult because the victim speaks little English, and his jaw was wired shut because of the head injury.
Anyone with information about the shooting, or the whereabouts of Solorio or Meza, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 654-2311 or 654-2340.
