Reconstruction of the restrooms at the pier is underway, addressing a longtime complaint from visitors to the beach area. There had been no serious maintenance or renovation on the facilities for almost 50 years, City Manager Keith Till said.

The work is expected to be complete by mid-April. The same contractor also will make the City Hall restrooms accessible to the disabled in February.
