2 Executives Elected to Advanced Photonix Board

Robert G. Allison and Harry Melkonian have been elected to fill two of four vacancies on the board of directors for Advanced Photonix in Camarillo.

Allison is president and managing partner of Allison Venture Partners, a private capital and consulting company for technology matters. Through AVP, Allison holds several executive positions, including that of chief executive officer for two high-technology companies, Vis a Vis Communications and InterWorks Computer Products.

Melkonian joined Advanced Photonix in June 1992 and currently is president and chief executive officer. He was general manager of the company’s PIN photodiode business from 1993 until he was elected president in November 1996.

Advanced Photonix is a high-tech company that designs and manufactures silicon photodetectors and optoelectronic devices. The company recently began producing a silicon chip design for its large-area avalanche photodetectors.
