Workers, Advisors Welcomed to City

Three new municipal employees and seven committee members were welcomed recently to City Hall.

Police Officers Misha Griffith-Cook and Robert Thome and Assistant Planner Julie Molloy recently joined the city.

Griffith-Cook worked three years as an officer with the Metropolitan Transit Authority in Los Angeles and two years as a police cadet in La Habra.

Thorne, a U.S. Marine for six years, was hired from the Orange County Sheriff’s Academy.

Molloy worked as an administrative intern at Whittier City Hall and is completing her master’s degree in urban and environmental planning at UCLA.

The new hires are replacing city employees who have retired or left for other positions, officials said.

Advisory committee appointment also were made: Thomas Kneeshaw and incumbents Heidi Holzinger and Sheila Hostetler will serve on Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Committee; incumbent traffic commissioners Mark Bisaha, Jack Freeman and Nichole Oudyk will serve with newcomer Michael Thomas.
