From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A nanny formerly employed by actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore sued the couple Monday, three days after they had sued her.

The nanny, Kim Tannahill, contended in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court that she was not properly compensated for taking care of the couple’s three children and was subjected to physical threats and verbal abuse.

Willis and Moore, in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Idaho, where they have a home, contended that she misappropriated funds and slandered them.

In another lawsuit, filed by Tannahill in federal court, the former employee said she was not paid overtime wages by the actors.

Tannahill, who began working for the family in March 1994, contended that Willis and Moore “shamelessly exploited and abused plaintiff, through fraud, deceit, oppression, intimidation, threats and force . . . during plaintiff’s employment and thereafter.”

But Martin Singer, Willis and Moore’s attorney, said Tannahill was fired by the couple and is a “disgruntled ex-employee.”

“We consider her claims to be totally frivolous and without merit,” Singer said. “This lawsuit is merely a response to the one filed against her.”

In the suit, Tannahill says Moore locked her in a room and “physically restrained” her for more than an hour while the actress berated her.

But Singer said Tannahill’s allegations are “simply fictional.”

“I can’t make it any clearer,” he said. “She made these claims in an attempt to extort money from my clients.”
