Bracing for More Storms
Rain returned to the San Fernando Valley Monday, wreaking havoc on freeways, leading authorities to close the Sepulveda Basin and putting swift water rescuers on alert.
Authorities closed the streets in the Sepulveda Basin Monday morning until further notice and said they might be closed through the night because weather forecasters predicted the heaviest rains would hit the San Fernando Valley this morning.
Woodland Hills was hit with the most rainfall, .92 inches between 4 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday. In Van Nuys, .73 inches fell; Chatsworth had .51 inches, and Burbank received .30 inches. Palmdale was relatively dry, receiving a measly .03 inches.
