Teachers Sought for Climbing Wall

Share

The Conejo Valley YMCA is seeking rugged volunteers to teach others how to climb walls.

The center recently acquired a 30-foot by 10-foot wall that looks like a craggy mountain face on which people can test their muscles and rock-climbing skills.

The YMCA’s climbing wall is the only one in the Conejo Valley available for public use, according to program director Andy Dominguez. The wall will eventually become a three-sided tower with a platform from which climbers can learn to rappel down the sides.

The volunteer instructors will be trained by experienced climbers from the Wilderness Institute.
