Construction of Carpet Warehouse to Start in April

Beaulieu of America plans to break ground in April on a 260,000-square-foot carpet warehouse and distribution center with 45 truck bays on a 12-acre site on Desman Road. The carpet warehouse will be the city’s third.

Construction of the warehouse, to be completed in October, was approved by the City Council last week.

The Planning Commission will now decide whether to give the carpet company a variance to build half the number of parking stalls usually required. The company also is asking for a variance to decrease the standard 20-foot setback for buildings to 15 feet.
