Candidates Sought to Serve Ex-Board Member’s Term
After the sudden resignation of San Marino school board member Wendy Gute, district officials on Tuesday began accepting applications from residents to serve the remaining two years of her term.
Board of Education President Marjorie Dam, who announced Gute’s resignation last week, said the district has 60 days to appoint a replacement or call for an election.
“Calling a special election is expensive,” Dam said. “There is a precedent for the board to do a provisional appointment. So applications are available this morning. We are encouraging people to apply.”
