Dino Ciccarelli tried to score his 600th goal against his former team. He had missed Saturday against Tampa Bay.

He hit Tuesday night against Detroit.

Ciccarelli became the ninth player in NHL history to score 600 goals, and Florida made it stand up in a 1-1 tie with the Red Wings at Miami.

His power-play goal came with 5:09 to play, and it kept Chris Osgood from getting his fourth shutout in his last eight starts for Detroit.

“It feels good to get it over with,” said Ciccarelli, who also has played for Tampa Bay and Detroit. “I think everybody had been planning for this. I had family coming down all the time and everyone asking, ‘When are you going to get it?’ “‘

The goal was the third for Ciccarelli since joining the Panthers Jan. 16 in a trade from Tampa Bay. He spent four seasons in Detroit before moving to the Lightning two years ago.

Chicago 4, Phoenix 2--Tony Amonte had two goals and an assist for the Blackhawks in a win at Phoenix that ended the Coyotes’ four-game unbeaten streak.

Jeff Shantz and Eric Daze also scored for Chicago, which beat Phoenix for the first time in five games this season and for only the second time in 10 meetings since the Coyotes moved to Arizona last season.
