D.A. Errors

Re “Counties Not Liable for D.A.’s Errors, Court Says,” Jan. 30: The double standard is alive and well, and the police state of California takes away yet another right.

If those in our justice system are exempt from being accountable for their actions (right or wrong), then why is John Q. Public required by law to be accountable for his actions (right or wrong)? A district attorney can destroy an innocent man or woman with excessive charges, false evidence, lies, slander, ruination and, when caught at it, just walks away, and the accused has no recourse. Wake up, folks, it could happen to you, and unless you are rich and famous, you too will be in jail.
