The Ventura County Hall of Fame is preparing for its 16th annual awards banquet. In 15 years, 75 athletes have been enshrined in the hall, seven special achievement awards have been presented, and 800 high school and college athletes have been honored as their school’s athlete of the year.

* Sylmar High’s baseball team is holding an alumni golf tournament Feb. 22 at El Cariso Golf Course. All proceeds go to the Sylmar baseball scholarship fund. Cost is $40. Information: (818) 367-1971, ext. 385.
