Woman’s Body Found Near Flood Channel
Authorities are checking missing persons’ files to try to learn the identity of a woman found dead beside a flood control channel.
Laguna Beach city workers clearing debris from the channel in the 20000 block of Laguna Canyon Road found the body about 1 p.m. Wednesday in dense shrubs, police said. The woman was described only as Asian.
The fully clothed body had no personal effects or identification, police said.
“They are actively working to try to obtain an ID for this poor woman,” Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Doris Weaver said.
The coroner’s office had no information Thursday night on a possible cause of death.
