Ice Dogs Lose in Shootout

The Fort Wayne Komets rallied from a two-goal deficit by scoring twice in a span of 2 1/2 minutes in the third period before earning a 3-2 shootout victory over the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Thursday night.

Fort Wayne’s Tom Peterson scored the lone shootout goal after goals by teammates Ed Campbell and Tom Nemeth tied the score in the third period. Nemeth’s goal came with 6:03 remaining.

The shootout loss ended Long Beach’s five-game road winning streak.

Goals by Vitali Yachmenev and Rob Kenny had given the Ice Dogs a 2-0 lead.
