No. 2 Irvine 9, No. 10 Foothill 1--Irvine (15-4) scored three goals in the each of the first three quarters. Nicole Huszcz and Erin Lezak scored four goals each for the Vaqueros. Daylene Coberly scored Foothill’s (13-8) only goal in the fourth quarter.

Orangewood Academy 55, St. Michael’s 44--Starly Alvarado scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Orangewood Academy. Nicolas Wolfsen added nine points, nine rebounds and 10 blocks for the Spartans (14-6, 5-3). Micah Chaney scored a team-high 17 points for St. Michael’s (5-10, 2-5).

In Century League wrestling:

Foothill 37, Canyon 30--Foothill (8-7, 2-3) won the last five matches to come from behind. Peter Ahern was down, 11-1, in the 215-pound class to Canyon’s Brian Tracey, when Ahern managed a pin in 4 minutes 19 seconds. Heavyweight David Liti clinched the match with a pin in 41 seconds.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 54, Century 23--Pouria Maleki pinned Century’s Alfonso Ramos in 5:14 at 127 pounds. El Dorado teammate Matt Burnham (132) pinned George Bustamante in 1:11.

The Golden Hawks are 4-1.

Katella 36, Kennedy 33--John Garcia’s pin of Vernon Mena of Kennedy proved to be the key match for Katella, which finishes third in league. Garcia (191 pounds) won the match in 1:41. Adan Tapia, ranked fourth in the county at 121 pounds, improved his record to 34-1 after pinning Kennedy’s Bobby Macias in 4:59. Richard Fiestman of Kennedy, ranked first in the county at 137 pounds, won by fall over Salin Sanchez. Katella is 17-3, 3-2.

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 37. Valencia 30--Alan Davidson’s 14-5 victory over Cameron Hokanson (173 pounds) assured the victory for Brea Olinda (16-4, 3-1).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 76, Costa Mesa 0--Heavyweight Robert Fields of Laguna Hills was trailing, 4-2, when he pinned Ryan McBride at 4:30 to complete the shutout for the Hawks (8-2, 4-0).

In the South Coast League:

San Clemente 45, Capistrano Valley 19--San Clemente’s Chris Hurtado won the 114-pound class with a take down of Ryan Bornolli in the last 15 seconds of the match. San Clemente is 16-4, 4-1.

In the Sunset League:

No. 8 Fountain Valley 39, Esperanza 23--Bryan Masumoto, ranked second in the county at 121 pounds, pinned Esperanza’s Jeff Schmidt in 1:14 in the 127-pound match to help Fountain Valley (11-2, 5-0) to a first-place league finish. In the heavyweight division, Fountain Valley’s Brian Sanfilipo pinned George Mares in 2:29.
