United Way Closing Three Regional Offices to Cut Costs

Share

In an effort to streamline operations, United Way will close regional offices in Anaheim, Mission Viejo and Huntington Beach by April.

“The closure of our regional office facilities will ultimately free up $164,000 annually--monies that will be reinvested in the community served by our agencies,” Orange County’s United Way President Maria Chavez Wilcox said.

The organization, with an annual operating budget of $3.8 million, will continue its fund-raising and charitable services from its Orange County headquarters in Irvine.

Chavez Wilcox said the three closures resulted in the elimination of about eight positions, including three regional director positions.

“These operational changes represent the most current steps Orange County’s United Way has taken to ensure that its contributors are receiving the best value and management of their charitable investments,” Chavez Wilcox said.
