Council Delays Decision on Tavern’s Live Music Permit
- Share via
Amid continuing debate over noise and other problems from restaurants and bars, a country and western tavern is seeking to become the city’s third establishment with a live music permit.
The owners of the Huntress on Lincoln Avenue requested a permit last month to offer live music for karaoke and country-western nights.
But the City Council opted to delay any decision because officials are revising the process of issuing live music permits. A tougher live music ordinance that includes noise, parking and security requirements is under consideration.
In recent years, the city’s two restaurants with live music permits have been reviewed several times because of noise complaints and calls for police service.
The council will further consider the entertainment issues at a 7 p.m. meeting Monday at the council chambers, 5275 Orange Ave. Information: (714) 229-6700
