Exhibit Slithering Into San Diego

Share

Do you loathe them? Fear them? How do you feel about them at 10 times life-size?

The San Diego Natural History Museum hopes you will at least appreciate the slithering species, if not exactly love them, after viewing its new exhibit “Reptiles!”

The show, opening Feb. 21 and running through Sept. 7, will feature life-like robotic models up to 24 feet long that wiggle their tongues, rotate their eyes and perform other reptilian feats. There also will be a live zoo with several species of the real critters; explanations of reptile evolution, biology and behavior; and hands-on and interactive displays.

The museum, in Balboa Park, is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily through May 30 and to 5:30 p.m. daily from May 31 through Sept. 7. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors 55 and over, $3 for children 6-17, free to children under 6. Information: (619) 232-3821.
