West Coast Bancorp Yearly Earnings Up 45%

Bank holding company West Coast Bancorp reported fourth quarter net income of $459,000, or 5 cents a share, compared with net income of $457,000, or 5 cents a share, for the same period last year. Net income for the year rose 45% to $1.3 million, or 14 cents a share, from $874,000, or 10 cents a share, for 1996. Total assets increased 20% to $130.6 million from $109 million.
