Volunteers are needed by Glendale Adventist Medical Center to assist in the hospital’s new hospice program. Volunteers will receive training to care for terminally ill patients at the hospital, 1509 Wilson Terrace. For more information, contact Alicia Gonzalez at (818) 409-6604.

The San Fernando Valley Literacy Council is looking for English as a second language and literacy tutors. Training courses will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Sepulveda, 15435 Rayen St., North Hills. ESL training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 21 and 28.
