Re “Sanchez Elated as Probe Is Dropped,” Feb. 5:

In [former Rep.] Robert K. Dornan’s remarks to the press following the loss of his challenge to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove), he says, “I look 10 years younger than my age, and I act 30 years younger.” I would say he acts 60 years younger--more like a child going through the “terrible twos.”

As a Republican constituent in the 46th District, I am thrilled with the accessibility and help I have received from Sanchez. My last visit with the Dornan office in Washington consisted of a homophobic diatribe by an aide. I’ll be voting for Loretta Sanchez again.

The sub-headline for this story says that analysts say the “inquiry into votes by noncitizens has alienated Latinos from the GOP.” If I were a Republican, I’d say, “So what?”

There was confirmed voter fraud in this election. As a Democrat, I was appalled at the way Latinos and my party reacted to this investigation. I’m alienating myself from anyone who has a problem with investigations into noncitizens voting in our American elections.

As a former resident of the 46th District I was happy to hear that the Republican-led Congress is finally going to stop wasting our money in a 14-month attempt to hurt Sanchez. It shows what a little man Dornan really is, that he never once admitted that in wasting his time, money and energy in his ill-fated, ego-driven bid for the presidency, he threw away his congressional seat.

I remember that the constant theme of the taxpayer-paid mailings from Dornan was term limits, that is, when Democrats ran the Congress. That theme ended when his ilk got their majority. Well, the voters gave Bob his term limits. I hope that someday he is man enough to face it.
