Schools Seek Input on Use of Bond Funds

Share

Pleasant Valley School District officials are asking residents to help decide how new school bond money should be spent.

School principals will direct 11 committees of volunteers to oversee the use of proceeds from bonds authorized by voters in November.

The money includes about $8.5 million for modernization of all schools and $3 million for new classrooms to keep pace with growth and class-size reduction.

The first meeting will be held in the library of Los Altos Intermediate School, 700 Temple Ave., Camarillo, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will include a general orientation, an update on completed projects and a review of committee structures and goals. Individual committees will then meet in separate classrooms to begin work.

Each committee will address finance, planning, construction and maintenance relating to its topic.

Camarillo residents who would like to serve on committees should contact Associate Supt. Howard Hamilton at 482-2763 before Wednesday’s meeting.
