Boris Reznik, whose limited basketball career at UC Irvine came to an end last September, has transferred to State University of New York-Stony Brook, Coach Bernard Tomlin said.

Stony Brook is a Division II school that will move to Division I in 1999. Reznik, a 6-10 center, will be a redshirt this season and have two years of eligibility.

“We tried to recruit Boris out of high school,” Tomlin said. “We’re excited to have him here.”

Reznik played in 18 games, scoring four points, in two seasons for Irvine.
