Fortysomething Suitor Questions Price of Love
- Share via
The women interviewed for “The Mrs. Myth” (Jan. 30) who are fortysomething and still looking for love all say that they aren’t concerned whether or not their date drives a new car.
I applaud them for being realistic about their attractiveness, but they are still priced out of the market due to the intense social demand that the man has to pay for the date.
Should I, a single fortysomething man, spend $25 on the least expensive possible date with a middle-aged woman who isn’t good-looking? (That’s assuming two movie tickets and two meals at Taco Bell.) Or should I spend $4 to see the movie by myself and spend $21 to save for my retirement or reduce my credit card debt? I wonder what my financial advisor would say about that.
