THE OX TONGUE TASTES LIKE CHICKEN STOMACH
A man can work up an appetite sitting around day after day, waiting for Olympic ski races to get canceled.
After one such day, I stopped into a restaurant in Hakuba Village.
The place is called Wadano No Mori, and the menu is quite interesting.
Choices, choices, what would it be tonight?
Well, there’s a “Barbecued Ox Tongue” to die for, or perhaps Mori’s famous “Sauteed Chicken Stomach.” Not chicken sandwich, mind you, chicken stomach. But it is sauteed.
The menu also offers “Eggplant topped with Sweet Miso Paste” and “Original Meat and Miso Lettuce.”
And there is one entree definitely worth a second look: “Yam Pizza with Mayonnaise, Cheese and Spicy Roe.”
Yummmy.
