2 Streets to Be Closed for Subway Station Work

Share

Sections of Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue will be closed from 8:30 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Tuesday because of work on the Vermont-Sunset Metro Red Line station, officials said.

The closures are necessary to remove one block of temporary wooden street decking. Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained. The work is much smaller in scale than a previous removal on Hollywood Boulevard, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said.

The blocks affected will be Vermont between Fountain Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, and Sunset between New Hampshire Avenue and Rodney Drive.

Northbound traffic on Vermont will be detoured to Virgil Avenue via Santa Monica Boulevard and southbound onto Virgil via Hollywood.

Eastbound traffic on Sunset will be diverted to Fountain via Normandie Avenue. Westbound traffic will be detoured to Hollywood Boulevard.

Vehicular and pedestrian access for Kaiser Permanente and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles will be maintained from Sunset Boulevard. Access for Queen of Angels / Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital will be from Fountain Avenue.
