GAY AND LESBIAN BLESSING: Metropolitan Community Church in the Valley will offer a blessing for same-gender relationships during its 10 a.m. Sunday service at the church, 5730 Cahuenga Blvd., North Hollywood. The service is not a mass wedding and does not ask for vows of commitment, but invokes God’s blessing for the couples. SNOW DAY: Fifty tons of snow will fall on the North Valley Community Center to celebrate a Snow Day that includes a 120-foot snow slide and snowman-building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the center, 16601 Rinaldi St., Granada Hills. Members of the American Friends of Neve Shalom-Wahat Al-Shalom, the Israeli village shared by Jews and Palestinians, describe the unusual model of hope and how it functions.
