A teenage boy was in juvenile hall Saturday after he was arrested on six counts of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon stemming from his alleged role in two drive-by shootings, Port Hueneme police said.

The Oxnard 15-year-old, whose identity was not released because of his age, is accused of wounding a 19-year-old man during the separate shootings 10 days ago, Port Hueneme Det. Christina Alvarez said.

Investigators had received reports that the teen had been bragging at Oxnard High School about the shootings, Alvarez said.

The 15-year-old, a reported gang member, was arrested at 7 p.m. Friday as he was walking in the 200 block of Pleasant Valley Road. Alvarez said he was carrying a handgun that may have been used in the shootings.

The first shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 4, when someone fired at an occupied vehicle in the 2600 block of Anchor Avenue. The two people in that car were not injured.

In the second shooting, about 20 minutes later in the 2600 block of Sextant Avenue in Port Hueneme, the teen is suspected of firing from a white Ford Mustang at three people in another vehicle. A 19-year-old was shot in the arm, Alvarez said. In addition, a stray bullet entered a nearby home, but no one there was hurt.
