Meeting to Focus on Water, Noise, Secession

The quality of tap water, airport noise and Valley secession will be discussed at the Homeowners of Encino “town hall” meeting Thursday.

Representatives of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) and Jeff Brain, co-founder of Valley VOTE, a San Fernando Valley secessionist group, will attend the meeting to address these topics, said Gerald Silver, president of the Homeowners of Encino.

Steve Ott and Scott Munson of the Water Quality Division of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power will begin with a discussion of the quality of city tap water.

Sherman will address the problem of noise from the Van Nuys Airport; Brain will discuss the pros and cons of Valley secession.

The meeting will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sepulveda Garden Center, 16633 Magnolia Blvd. near Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino.
